The Northwest Nebraska High Country is formed and run by a group of rural land-owners.  We are for the most part ranchers and farmers, offering lodgings in different forms, such as bed & breakfast, fully equipped cabins you can rent,  even ranch houses as well as restored authentic old sheep-wagons!  Some are situated close to the land owners home, others sit off by themselves and offer complete privacy.  In many cases there are corrals or pastures for your horses, and lots of land to ride.  Some also offer overnight facilities for the travel weary horse and owner.

The scenic Pine Ridge area of Northwest Nebraska, which is central to the group's members, is often referred to as "The Last Frontier".  This area is still largely agricultural with scattered ranches and farms and it is sparsely populated.  The area and its surroundings have a lot to offer the visitor; The landscape is spectacular, with towering rock outcrops or "bluffs", each named after an old Indian lore.

You will also find tremendous history here - Fort Robinson, where Lakota Sioux warrior Crazy Horse was killed in 1877, was also a remount station during the 1st World War, and a POW camp during the 2nd World War.  There are many archeological digs in the area, and the Fur Trade Museum is well worth a visit.  We are a skip-and-a-jump from the Black Hills of South Dakota, with Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument and the historic gambling town of Deadwood.  We also sport numerous lakes for fishing and boating. 

Whether you are wanting to be pampered at a quaint bed & breakfast, or prefer the privacy of your own rustic cabin, we are sure to have what you are looking for.
